We're seeking a skilled Linux systems engineer to help us build a robust, scalable virtual platform. As an experienced Linux Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in managing, maintaining, and automating our Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Key abour your role

You are at your best when you have automated all our chores away and ready to spend time innovating our platform from a operating system perspective. Besides the daily maintenance and management of our Red Hat Linux / Vmware powered virtual infrastructures you will participate in or initiate our change and improvement projects.

Within your role you will be expected to work with; RHEL 8/9, Satellite, VMware, Kubernetes/Openshift, Puppet, Ansible, scripting tooling, etc.

Key about you

You are a skilled (Red Hat) Linux systems engineer with extensive experience in managing, maintaining, and automating Linux-based server infrastructures in a (private) cloud environment. Your expertise lies in automating routine tasks and focusing on innovating our virtual platform. In addition to automating daily maintenance and management of the Linux side of our hosting platform, you actively participate in our improvement projects.

Furthermore, we think it’s important that you have:

  • Extensive experience with Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or a comparable Linux flavor), and large virtual environments managed with VMware in large (private) cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in developing Bash and/or Python scripts, and infrastructure automation using Puppet and Ansible.
  • Red Hat certification (RHCSA, RHCE, etc.) or equivalent working experience.
  • Experience with container platforms like OpenShift and Kubernetes, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CheckMK and Elastic, and a basic understanding of network technology.

As a Senior Linux Engineer, you’ll be a vital member of our IT team of 18 professionals, dedicated to maintaining a virtual private cloud environment for our top-tier SaaS applications. Our team operates across The Netherlands and India, with your primary base in our Utrecht office, working alongside 13 colleagues specializing in Networking, Virtualization, Backup, Security, Monitoring, and more. 

In this important role, you’ll support an IT infrastructure that serves around 35 major clients in the pension and insurance sectors, impacting millions of customers across Western Europe. Our platform services include Dell and Cisco hardware and a fully virtualized server cluster using the complete VMware suite.

Keylane offers

  • A monthly gross salary between € 5,000 and € 6,000 based on 40 hours per week;
  • 8% holiday allowance of your total gross salary;
